- Satellite Operator (satellite capacity provision);
- Services Provider (provision of satellite communication links, broadcasting services, Internet access, aerospace monitoring);
- Systems Integrator (satellite communication and broadcasting networks development and deployment);
- Space Systems Designer.

Gazprom Space Systems has an up-to-date space and ground infrastructure, strong business, a wide client base, and skilled team.
The company has created and operates Yamal Satellite Communications System consisting of:
- orbital constellation (Yamal-100*, Yamal-201, Yamal-202 communication satellites), ground operation facilities;
- ground infrastructure (NOC, teleports, digital satellite TV center, network of earth stations in the Russian regions).
*Yamal-100 satellite, having reached its operational lifetime, was taken out of service (Summer 2010)
Gazprom Space Systems is one of two Russian national satellite operators and one of about 40 satellite operators in the world. The company ranks the 19th position based on revenue. The World Teleport Association recognized Gazprom Space Systems as the Corporate Teleport Operator of the Year in 2009.

The number of TV channels on Yamal satellites exceeds one hundred that amounted more than 30 percent of the total number of the TV channels distributed over Russia via satellites.
