According to the agreement with the global satellite operator SES ASTRA on August 30, 2011 ASTRA 1F satellite was placed at the 55E orbital position.
It will operate at this position till the start of Yamal-402 satellite nominal operation.
Gazprom Space Systems has exclusive rights on using all ASTRA 1F available capacity (16 Ku-FSS transponders, 26 MHz each).
Coverage zone is European Part of Russia and Western Siberia.
The satellite’s beam has high power allowing to realize all kinds of services, including direct TV broadcasting of standard and high definition, broadband access, etc.
The attractiveness of this project for the Russian satellite telecommunication service providers lies in ensuring the continuity of networks, deployed on the basis of ASTRA 1F capacity, with Yamal-402 capacity.
