Service Description

Gazprom Space Systems provides Yamal-201 (С and Ku-bands) and Yamal-202 (С-band) satellites capacity.

Yamal-201 and Yamal-202 satellites have high power parameters and attractive coverage zones.

These satellites capacity allows to propose a wide range of services:

  • point-to-point trunk links (for fixed communication operators, GSM and wireless operators, Internet providers);
  • TV distribution and contribution, satellite news gathering (for national and regional broadcasters, cable and on-air networks operators);
  • VSAT services (for corporate, government sectors, distant learning and telemedicine);
  • broadband Internet access (for Internet providers).

Yamal-201 and Yamal-202 satellites capacity is provided either on a regular (the capacity is available seven days a week and round the clock) or on a temporary basis (short-time use and frequent regular use).

Both a whole transponder as well as a part of it can be let.

NOC of Gazprom Space Systems and the company sales departments ensure 24/7 monitoring of the provided capacity and the customers support.

The rules of the customers’ ground stations admission to the satellites, technical administration of contracts and control of the customers’ use of the provided are stated in the Regulations of Interaction with the Users of the Satellites Capacity.


Yamal-201 Satellite Capacity

Yamal-201 satellite is positioned at 90 deg. E and is equipped with 9 C-band transponders (72 MHz) and 6 Ku-band transponders (72 MHz).

This satellite covers practically Russian territory and parts of the neighboring countries.

The satellite was launched into orbit in 2003, its designed lifetime is 12 years.

Now 75 TV programs are broadcasted and over 6 000 VSATs are working via the satellite.

Yamal-202 Satellite Capacity  

Yamal 202 satellite is positioned at 49deg. E and is equipped with 18 C-band transponders (72 MHz).

Wide coverage zone includes all visible territory of Russia together with Europe, Near East, South Africa and South and South-East Asia.

The satellite designed lifetime - till 2015.

Now the satellite broadcasts about 30 TV programs; the satellite capacity is used for servicing customers in 50 countries of the world

New Satellites Capacity

The launch of new, more powerful Yamal-300K, Yamal-401 and Yamal-402 satellites into 90 deg. E and 55 deg. E orbital slots scheduled for 2011-2013 will increase the satellite capacity of Gazprom Space System from 66 to 272 (36 MHz - equivalent) transponders, widen the coverage zones and allow to introduce more efficient methods of signals modulation and coding. All this shall provide superb development conditions for the current clients of Gazprom Space Systems and shall be interesting for new customers.
